The Virgo Beach..!!!

ಸಮುದ್ರ ಕನ್ಯೆ .....!!!

This time I am taking you to a unique place where one can enjoy the private beach feeling.  No man made things…just nature’s natural art of beauty.

A perfect Holiday spot for family.

My nephew PRANAV of age 5 kept on chanting “Hurry up..!! Hurry up..!!! , Let’s go to the Beach “since day 1 of the trip. Hope I have not disappointed his own imagination about the beach. He packed his “BEN10” bag with swim suit ,swim goggles, his own 2 mp camera, Beach volleyball, pair of beach slippers. Ah… my god… we never used to prepare such arrangements at age of 5, nor even at this age.. lol !!! shame … but true J

I was eager to mention about this place as soon as I saw that place. It’s a typical beach with neither you can find disturbance nor any pollution. Thanks to Roopa my blog guru who gave a hint about this place.

One of the safest and cleanest beaches I have ever noticed. This beach is widely known as the rough sea erosion surfing spot during Manson season as relentless gales and waves.

Don’t expect any facilities , pack your food, juice, rest under the cool shade of coconut palm .Enjoy the beach and keep the same to others enjoy it. Please do not put garbage on the beach after you enjoy take the stuff back home accept the natures calls…..since its belonged to Nature so tribute to it..!!  LOL..!!!!

We were 16 members had been to trip for 3 days. This place was one of the memorable one for each of us in the whole trip. Irrespective of age group can really enjoy in the waters. Well suited location for a family to spend the day out. My nephew of age 5 years enjoyed most compared to all of us.

I can give a hint about direction to this place. Its between Kundapura and Udupi, just 7 km away from NH 17. Who ever interested can contact me for detailed directions. Purposely I have avoided naming it. No personal…. But Just an effort to keep that beach VIRGIN.

This beach is actually sandwiched between Swarna River and Arabian Sea! The sandy ribbon beaches stretches over 5 miles from Kodi all the way south to one of famous Beach. That's a whole lot of beach beach and just beach. You can prefer between a swim in the Arabian Sea, or a quiet kayak canoe exploration.

We cousins had a lot fun in waters playing beach volley ball for sometime. Ample time for photography. Capturing nature’s beauty with different angles and modes. Family photo session was also a part of schedule.

Sand bath was just unforgettable. We cousins enjoyed playing kabbadi and running race on the sea shore, mild sunlight which just remembered me DIL CHATA HAI. Myself,Phani,Varuni & Shubha in one team. Opponent team was even strong including BIG B vijay ,Naren,Supritha and Souparni. Proper strategy and timely attack made us to sweep the match with score 2-0.Thanks for Naren for organizing quick kabbadi session on the sea shore. In spite of warning call from elders we took our own sweet time to return back to bus after enjoying beach for nearly 5 hours. Finally with out other option we came out of the beach, had quick bath with sweet water. Left to Dharmastala with great note J

ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯ ಗಂಗೆ .....!!!! Bayalu seeme ya Gange…!!!

Rangiayaana Durga Project
Distance from Bengalooru : 260 kms.
How to reach : On the way to Bellary via Hiruyur, chelkere, Hangal. Take left at Hangal continue till 2 km ,Take again left turn and move 3.5 km to reach RD Project.Road is good till HANGAL. Last 6 km stretch is very Narrow and bumpy, thorns are as strong as nails which is really a nightmare for tires.but still My NEW WAGON R VXi with TUBELESS TIRES .......... made it without any complaints :)
This Trip was something special to me.I drove my own " BLUE EYED BOY "  THE  NEW MARUTI WAGON R After a Hectic schedule at office came back home by around 10 pm.Accompanied by my Mom and Dad Left to my Native place "CHIKKERAHALLY" at 10.40 pm for the First Long Drive in my " BLUE EYED BOY". some kind of happiness, sort of satisfaction, more of excitement bit of emotions made my journey simply UNFORGETTABLE.

Also Visited RANGIAH DURGA project which is near to my native place of course with my cousins.I call it as   "BAYALU SEEME ya GANGE"  coz it just remembered me the importance of  OASIS in DESERT.

Let me share what exactly you mean by Bayaluseeme  It's "plain ground" or "open ground" as it gives an unobstructed view of the neighboring locality’s .the area lying to the east of MALNAD, a region of Karnataka state. The area is largely open plain, with few hillocks and districts include Gadag, Haveri, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Gulbarga, Raichur, Koppal, Bellary, Chitradurga,Tumkur which are mainly depend on KRISHNA ,BHIMA and TUNGABHADRA rivers. Normal Temperature would be around 39 to 49 degree Celsius.Imagine temperature at summer ...!!!! I hope now one can analyze why my blog name is bayaluseeme ya gange.ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯ ಗಂಗೆ

Two Major Dams TUNGA BHADRA  at Hospete and  KRISHNA at ALMATTI constructed to fulfill the thirst of north Karnataka.small reservoir like vanivilasa sagara in chitradurga district and Karayanpur reserviour in bijapur district which are supporting equally. Adding to it RANGIAYANA DURGA dam which has been constructed newly and open for the use.

It has been constructed across the river HAGARI.  Later it splits it's route emerging as Dodda Hagari and Sanna Hagari. It is also known as VEDAVATHI river in Karnataka, Two rivers VEDHA and AVATHI rises from the eastern part of sahyadri range and flows through the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Vanivilasa Sagara has been constructed across the river Vedavathi couple of years back.
Sanna Hagari which flows  through Rangiayana durga,Chikerahally,Nagsamudra and enters into Andra Pradesh. Am proud to say my native CHIKERAHALLY which is on the bank of river HAGARI. Dodda Hagari flows thro kotur, sirguppa, sindhanur ,manvi thro small stream/low level channel .This would really help in reducing the scarcity of water to 40%.Finally It joins Tunga Bhadra near MANTRALAYA.
Karnataka is land of natural resources, government is not taking necessary steps to utilize the resources. Many rivers in North Karnataka namely MANJRA,KANJARA ,KAGNA ,BARI ,MULLAMDRI ,BANITHORA ,BENNI HALLA,DHARMA,VARADA ,MALLAPRABHA,GHATAPRBHA, KALI. which are not utilized properly .Its a pity that most of us  don’t even know these names. Proper utilization of these rivers can lighten up many lives.

More of such Reservoir, check dams, Channels are needed.....!!!!!
Save Nature...!!!!

Kudremukha

Bhagawathi Nature camp
 Kudremukha
Let me have brief description about Kudremukha before I start penning my own experiences J

95 kms southwest of Chikmaglur town is Kudremukha hill station. It is so named because of the horse-faced range that overlooks the Arabian Sea. Situated at 1894 meters above sea level the mountain ranges are interlinked with one another with deep vales and steep cliffs. It is trekkers delight to trace out new paths to reach the summit. Rich in flora and fauna, Kudremukha hill station Karnataka has lush green forests, cascading waterfalls and rare orchids. It is an ideal destination for tourists to spend their vacation. The hill station Kudremukha is also a trekker’s territory since besides the rich flora and fauna much is left to be discovered in the unexplored hills of Kudremukha.
Our Plans
1. Friday Night:  Our planned Route was
Bengalooru>>Hassan>>Belur>>Chikmaglur>>Kalasa>>Kudremukha
2. Saturday Program: Stay @ Bhaghawathi Nature Camp well maintained by Forest Department. Need to take Permission from Karkala Range office before you enter the this Heaven
3. Sunday Program: visiting near by places, Hornadu and back to Bangalore. Route was Hornadu >> Kalasa>> Kotigehara>>Mudigere>> Hassan>> Bengalooru

Travel begins here………….

This time our team was big, 9 members includes
me, Phani, Varuni, Naren, Shubha (sis–in-law),
Srinidhi ,newly married couple Srikanth & Archana
( heartily welcome to our family )
last but not the least MR BEN10
 (PRANAV V DAS my nephew)
We started out trip at 10.30 pm in TT from my place, we had planned to cook our own food so every arrangement was done by communicating each other and collecting necessary items, finally we missed basic thing toor dal …huh..!!! Never mind we have talent of making any recipe with any kind of dal’s Hehhe.

As usual we had nice time traveling after so many days, chatting, cracking jokes, teasing made us journey more interesting. Since seating was 2 + 1, couples were occupied in two seated and idiot bachelors were on the other side without any option, It was around 12.30 everyone was hungry,

we were stopped by roadside dhaba near Hassan, had food nicely even though it was nice food Jand continued our journey. It was around 2.20 we noticed our vehicle was moving in zigzag manner, we had some close shave also… later we realized that driver was feeling drowsy and asked him to sleep for sometime.
It was around 5.45 am, Finally Driver took charge of his vehicle and we started enjoying nature since it was early morning with cool breeze and mild sun light  which made us feel warm in that crouching cold . Around 7 we stopped near Bhadra coffee stop J it was nice place surrounded with coffee estates, fresh, hot and filtered coffee was served with a desi touch. Taste was really good and we just loved it…!!!Enjoying the flavor we started out journey towards Kalasa...As we moved further roads were narrow with very dangerous curves, with onward coming vehicles with higher speed. We passed though many streams, lakes it was an awesome view, once can enjoy nature in different angles, adding to it heavy rains made us more scary and thrilling. On the way we stopped at well maintained widely spread Tea Estate, walked along the path inside the estate it was festival for both real and virtual eyes J  we had cup of tea from estate and continued journey to Kalasa, we reached Kalasa around 10 am even though it was late but we enjoyed the journey all the way it dint matter for us actually. we had break fast  hot idly sambar and famous Mangalore bun and chutney it was nice combination. After breakfast we took roamed around market took some vegetables and left. Around 12 noon we reached Kudremukha and it was raining badly, we were so upset with continuous rains thinking that it may flop our show. Some sort of confused state, unsatisfied mode In spite of these we took Permission letter and guidance at Kudremukha guest house to reach BHAGWATHI NATURE CAMP, which is 10 km away from the Kudremukha town on the way to Karkala. You can also visit Lakya Dam where the sludge of Iron ore project is dumped.  As we moved further intensity of rain was less and sun light started to reach our skin. Everyone was just waiting for this exact moment ……enthusiasm to enjoyment was doubled … smile on every faces started blooming, we reached Nature camp gate inside we had to travel 1 km to reach the nature camp. We felt there were many caves and mountain tracks still left unexplored in the hill station of Kudremukha.

Nature camp which is well maintained, tidy and improved basic amenities. We were surprised to see government undertaken guest house in this conditions. Thanks to Govt of Karnataka and Karnataka Tourism Department. Guest house with two bed room with nice cot, bed, blankets also includes attached bathroom. Dining hall with dining table in common space inside the building. Solar Lighting is one of the main sources in that jungle. We just felt it like private resort. Everyone just roamed around nature camp and enjoyed the nature’s beauty; one can see bamboo chairs along the path, tents with bathroom are also available, separate space for camp fire is also available provided u should have permission. A cook is appointed by Govt who makes u clean and delicious food with nominal fee.

Very much pleased with the Nature camp environment and facilities, everyone planned to take bath in Bhadra River which flows by side of Nature camp. Even thought I was drizzling we got used such kind of rains and started jumping into river. It’s just clean and crystal clear .Even though it was too much cold we enjoyed playing and diving in the river. Around 3.30 all of us got ready to prepare our own food, since there was kitchen with basic amenities we dint find much trouble to cook. Helping hands made us to prepare delicious sambar, bhendi fry. Addition to it we had some pickles and chutneypudi made us to eat MRUSTANNA BHOJANA, Vaatapi Jeernobhava  J later everyone cleaned utensils and handed over to Meti. we walked around guest house for sometime, later entered the guest house and started playing dumb- shards, had  dinner in between and continued playing till 1 am and slept Peacefully aha… what a day….came to an end
 in the jungle……..!!
Got up at 7, quick fresh up and left the nature camp and traveled towards Hanumagundi falls, On the way we saw Rudra Tirtha is at 3 km from valley resort, next is Vasishtha Tirtha at 4 km Amba Tirtha, Varaha Tirtha at 5th km. At 6 km we can see way to Gangamoola A place where river Tunga, Bhadra and Netravati originate from a cave. grassy slopes, silent streams are main attraction. Be careful of Leaches which sucks blood silently without disturbing anyone J .A picturesque locations where u don’t reasons to leave the place without taking snap. We gave most of work to our virtual Lens at this place since it was raining, took nearly 400 snaps in and around Gangamoola. Left to Hanumagundi falls on the way we finished breakfast at roadside hotel, Puliyogre was testy though.

Hanuman Gundi: 17 kms from Valley resort on the way to Karkala we got down and visited this waterfall where the water cascade from a height of more than 100 feet.  Reaching this spot requires walking down on the narrow steps nearly around 400 built by forest department and it was risky since it was slippery at some places. But precautionary measured have been taken by govt. The water was ice cool and good for swimming. But we just took bath in rain enjoyed to the core; since water gushes out of big rocks one can get nice therapy to back with free of cost. Remember anything un usual act or stunts may cost your life too that to free of cost ha-ha.
After a nice time at falls, traveled towards Hornadu which is  around 48 km from that place need to come back to Kudremukha, Kalasa to reach Hornadu, At 2 we reached Hornadu Took darshana of devi Annapoorneshwari ,followed by nice tasty lunch served at Temple premises. Everyone was hungry and just batted like 20-20 format game. Left from Hornadu at 4 pm and reached bengalooru at 2 am in the morning.
Road is very bad and full of ghat section till kotigehara, be cautious while driving
This Time we traveled via Kalasa>> Kotigehara>>Mudigere>> Hassan>> Bengalooru

Some Unforgettable Moments which I couldn’t resist sharing it.
On way to Kudremukha from Bangalore:
Since seating was 2 + 1, couples were occupied in two seated and idiot bachelors were on the other side without any option, But standing instruction was given to couples especially newly married couple Archana and Srikanth that every five mins they have to raise there respective hands and say “HU”  J just to make sure that they were with usJ. Since Archana was fresher, she promptly answered as per direction given by us...Paapa...Untill we reached Hassan!!! But Varuni has almost 1 + years experience she easily bypassed all rules and slept nicely…..will see u later Varuni..!!!! Wait for u r turn…Hehhe..!!
Everyone was hungry, we were stopped by roadside dhaba near Hassan had food nicely even though it was nice food Jand continued our journey.
TT driven by Kanta
it was around 2.20 we noticed our vehicle was moving in zigzag manner, we had some close shave also… later we realized that driver was feeling drowsy and asked him to sleep for sometime, sincerely he followed our directions, by that time Mr. and Mrs. Naren completed their 50% of sleep. Rest of us sat outside talking to each other in the cold. it was nice experience, even after 90 mins we dint find any clue how to make him(driver) awake, he was enjoying his sleep. Later we decided to drive TT, my cousin Kanta was the pilot J  since all were unnoticed of his driving TT, so everyone was awake and standing behind Kanta to give direction and also moral support ha-ha J in fact he drove smoothly compared to regular TT driver…Kudos to u Kanta …!! Memorable experience …just can’t forget that..!!
In spite of this tension, we heard some one talking from behind...yes it was Varuni she was talking asleep…  “Hey chinnu……”.That’s what we heard clearly……!!!After some time Naren started saying “am in siddi Vinayaka Mandir” he was in Mumbai’s Vinayaka temple in his dreamland……oh my god….they made us laugh out of our tensions J thanks once again to those lovely couples J
While returning back from Hanumagundi Falls to Hornadu:
We met an accident with onward coming Tata Indica taxi, Bangalore registered vehicle the driver was very careless and rash , he was on the right side of the road at deep curve. Am penning it since I just want to warn you guys….Ghat section driving is not as easy as you drive in Bangalore/city traffic’s .You may end up with huge loss without any mistake of yours.
While returning to Bangalore:
We had stop for light refreshment at Kotigehara, but it turned out to be heavy for us LOL. We 6 members nearly ate 58 neer dose and chutney which is very famous in that region. As soon he serves everyone was jumping and grabbing dose. If you were late by one second probably you need to wait for next dose to come. An Unforgettable moment J

MUPPAANE..!!! The silent beauty of Sharavati !!!

ಶರಾವತಿ ........ನಿಶಬ್ಧ ಚಲುವೆ
Its time to share one of unforgettable memories on the sharavati back waters.

OUR ADVENTEROUS team chalked out complete fun filled adventurous trip to MUPPANE. It is situated in SHIMOGA district which is around 115 km from shimoga Town. Need permission from FOREST DEPARTMENT to stay. Naren helped in getting permission from forest department for us and cautioned us to be very careful since muppaane is land of COBRAS

I and Gopi started searching for muppaane in Google maps for hours together. Some how we were able to find the place, but we were not sure since none of us had been to that place earlier except Naren, Keeping rough idea and direction in mind Vijay, Naren, Phani, Varuni, Vaishnavi  started our trip to travel to shimoga by  IRAVATA on Friday morning,. chatting…cracking jokes…pulling each others legs ..Everything was just fun. our main target was Varuni (its Default)

The most memorable was we played a game like one should walk in the moving bus without taking a support on either side it was quite fun to manage, unfortunately when it was Varuni’s turn, she dint observe that there was a deep curve she started her challenge, when bus took a deep turn at 70 kmph she fell on one of the passenger ha ha..!! paaps…Both Varuni and that lady was scared and dint know what was going on J.For a moment Varuni became the STAR of the bus J by the time we reached shimoga it was 5.30 pm.we had small refreshments to regain our energyJ, we hired a sumo to travel to muppaane,

On the way we took some vegetables, some basic things to cook, petrol for generator at muppaane .By the time we reached sagara it was 10 pm.so planned to stay back at sagara due to some unfavorable conditions. After delicious dinner, we started searching for some rooms to stay ;) luckily we got some dormitory to stay. Early morning by 5, we had cup of TEA and BUN on roadside BOX restaurant and started journey towards jog. We reached KARGAL which is a small town 4km before Jog where u can find shops for your basic needs. We took deviation towards BHATKAL road  moved forward enquiring with localities to reach the destination, The way to muppaane is awesome ,curvy roads sudden steep .single road   surrounded by fog, lush greens with cool breeze. There were many lakes on the way. We stopped at one of the lake and gave some work to our virtual eyes J .every minute of travel was so refreshing enjoying the greenery, mild sunlight, lakes covered with fog, different species of birds and repeated caution from Naren reminding cobras it made us more curios to reach that place .after 12 km from KARGAL reached Muppaane Nature camp at 9 am, need to take left and travel inside about 3 km to reach guest house maintained by forest department. It’s a big hall actually u can’t find any rooms over there.

Just by the side of backwaters the guesthouse is situated .one can feel about private beach stay. Step outside of the guest house and you can enjoy panoramic view of sharavati back waters. Mind blowing…..!!!!!!Surrounded by 35% of dense forest and 65% of backwaters on other side. A boat belonged to forest department can be seen..But sorry guys…u cant use it…!!! Can just sit inside and take photographs loll….!!!We went for a walk around to enjoy the surrounding and collected some dry sticks to light up fire to cook for the lunch.

We had readymade breakfast with us. Later everyone entered in to Nature’s bath tub played some games in water. The water level was optimum. Moving forward gradually we can feel the depth of water anyways be cautious..!!!we spend nearly 4 hours in Nature’s Tub. around 2 pm we felt something strange..!!! Damn HUNGRY guys..!!!
Started co-operative cooking lunch process ,we can get utensils from  Meti of the guesthouse. Vijay and Naren was the head for all this process, everyone contributed with different kind of work, finally we prepared vegetable sambar and one side dish alu palya.
Mmmmmmmmm it was delicious and amazing experience..!!!! Everyone was so tired and  slept where ever we found some place to lie down. Evening we had been for a walk .as evening passed and darkness started covering we started reminding of cobras and was very scared and cautious …!!Vaishu and Varuni started screaming after stepping on something .everyone was tensed and used torch light to see what was that..!! later we realized that she has stepped on Varuni’s leg, due to pain Varuni too screamed..hahahah.!!! That was even more fun out of tense situation J

Back into the room, since we had given petrol for generator, lights were on..!! Oh we were so happy …!!!Meti cautioned us not to walk around in midnight since wild animals apart from two bulbs….everywhere it was covered with thick darkness and some strange noise of  tadpoles at different frequencies ..it was good experience ..though !! After dinner we got some bed by paying 50 /- , we started playing DUMSHARADS. Three in a team and played nicely till the power was available. AT 12 it was Varuni’s Birthday, we had arranged surprise party for her.

Got up early morning and went for a trek with Meti hoping that we can see some animals. But we were late..!! Animals had already left..!! we were just lucky to see only few paw marks and fresh laddi cakes…!!!

One should not miss the picturesque view of unending sharavati valley..!! Sharavati has spread widely up to 64 kms of backwater. This is the main source of water and power generation unit in Karnataka..!!

Avoid plastics and Maintain sanity of Nature…!!!!!

SAVE NATURE…!!!  ENJOY IT TILL CORE..!!!

MULLAYANAGIRI

Mullayangiri is the highest peak in KarnatakaIndia. It is located in the Baba Budan Giri Range. With a height of 1930 m (6317 ft.), it is the highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris. Mullayanagiri is located in the Chikkamagalur district of Karnataka.

We started our Journey to Mullayangiri by jeep which we hired from Kemmangundi. Its around 55 Km from Kemmangundi. Road is pathetic..!! If u have car with low ground clearance better park it and hire a 4 x4 jeep.  J. The way was really beautiful except road. The driver was very young he droved his jeep like bike. We got scared but enjoyed it too, he took us for some roller coaster ride along the dangerous curvy path.

It passes through many coffee Estates, small streams, small mountains covered with full of grass again a pleasant view, and u can also call it as wonderland for photographers and nature lovers. Just a single rain which turns brown grass to green. After few kilometers we stopped for some break and to enjoy the viewpoint. The view was just awesome..!!!The road passes through many dangerous curves, one should be expert in driving on such roads , Miss judge/extra turn would land you at not less than 3000 ft ….Be cautious..!!!! We entered Bababudangiri Forest Rangewhich is widely spread covering an area of 4102 sq km. Once you join the Chikmaglur Road u can see black color TAR ;),  Yup the road is good now towards Mullayangiri deviation ,road further continues towards kalasa. Ghat sections with some hairpin curves are very common.
The route is full of greenery and there are number of coffee estates, small falls  on the way. Then after few kms there is a junction with two routes, one towards Mullayangiri and other towards Bababudangiri  We took deviation towards Mullayangiri. Going further one can visit seetahala temple which is located on right side of the road on the way to Mullayangiri.
Karnataka Govt has improved some of the roads in that area not too many but some major roads.

The deviation to Mullayangiri from  main road is about 1 0 kms again it has some sharp curves, covered with trees, shrubs and different kind of plantations .Its a Single Road with no barricades in some places ,During Rainy season it might slide ,precautions is being taken by Government but still we have to be careful at all time J . One thing that catches your eyes all the way is the liveliness, lush and partial greenery since it was may end. Giant tranquil mountains which stands so calmly as if  it welcoming us . It’s a wonderful sight.

We reached top of the hill ,till this point vehicles can reach, At top there is a temple of Mullaya or God Shiva. It took us approximately 20 minutes from down to the top through zigzag steps. From wherever we see it looked like a viewpoint to us.
On the hilltop there is a small temple and there are some water taps. Freshened up with chilled water from tap.

Imagine…… we are at 6317 ft above from the sea level……uuffff!!! Amazing..!!!!

Mullayangiri literally means 'Mountain of Mullaya'.there are some small hilltop points, which you have to climb yourself to view better view of the valley. The vantage point welcomes us with breath taking views all around of the landscape below. We spent sometime walking around the temple.  The priest's family alone lives atop. He described us about the place and how it is famous .The tar road that leads to the top is clearly visible from the tip . Also one could clearly spot the trekking route that goes to Bababudangiri can also view Chikmaglur city from the top.

We had some photo sessions ,Gopal who is very thin among us easily climbed big rocks for photo pose. Which made us to start climb with difficulty finally myself; Phani Naren and Varuni managed to take snaps which were heartbreaking poses heheheh..!!!

After a perfect sunset we left that peak, as I said the driver was very young he droved the jeep like bike , all of us was very scared since it was totally dark except those jeep headlights. He used to zip the vehicle at 60kmph in ghat section which was really a terrible experience since we had seen that route during day time…..!! We could imagine what would be the result…if he miss judge but we are helpless..!!! We faced even that situation too ,while turning at a curve jeep climbed one of the small rock ,there was ditch of 3000 ft after it ….uff my god..!!!  some how he managed to come back on the road  but he never reduced his speed below 60 kmph…. .Finally by god’s grace we returned back to Kemmangundi by night 9.

Kemmangundi….!!

Kemmangundi….!!

Summer…..!!It was very hot in bengalooru…!! Time to go out and beat the summer scorching heat….. So planned a trip for some Hill station. Yup..!! It was Kemmangundi known as Kashmir of Karnataka. Approximately 280 kms from Bengalooru.

Since we always plan our schedule in perfect way, we started looking for Room, Food Availability, Transport and information of near by places to enjoy the trip till core. Since it was weekend there were no rooms available. Thanks to my dad, he was able to book room for us using his InfluenceJ.  Jagan(me), Gopal, Phani, Naren and Varuni started our trip in RED QUALIS at 11 in night after having dinner at Naren’s house.Phani and Naren also had a small nap even though we were busy in chatting whole night loll. Near Gubbi we had TEA at one of the small shop on the Highway. The route was Tumkur, Gubbi, Arsikere,Tiptur,Tarikere  ,after Terikere we took left turn which is the way to Kemmangundi,Since road is good  shape so we opted this route. It was 3 Am ,as we start ascending hilly region thro steep curves ,short curves ,very dark everywhere and kind of noise usually we hear in the forests ,Even though it was bit scary we enjoyed a lot…!! Route was interesting since it was covered with early morning Fog .we reached Kemmangundi at 5 Am,

Kemmangundi’s beautifully laid-out ornamental rose gardens and enchanting mountains and valley views are a treat to the eye. Ringed by the Baba Budangiri Range and Mullayngiri Range blessed with silver cascades, mountainstreams, and lush vegetation

Climate:

Kemmangundi is an ideal place to visit in the summer(nights become chilly even in summer, average temperatures 10-30 deg. celsius).
Winter temperatures average 6-25 deg. Celsius

Other scenic places around are
Kalhatti Falls
Raj Bhavan
Mullayngiri Range
Hebbe Falls (rushing down from a height of 250ft. in two stages of Dodda Hebbe- Big Falls
and Chikka Hebbe - Small Falls.

We looked for Guesthouse meti to make sure that we get our rooms, Since Guest house check in and checkout time was 12 Noon  to 12 Noon. He asked us to wait till 12 Noon, we some how managed to get small room till time to get ourselves fresh. We 5 had small nap on double bed hehehe..!!Around 9AM we got our Room in VIRUPAKSHA Vasati Gruha. Consist of one Hall, Room and Bathroom with hot water. Well maintained though..!! U can spend 350/- day for such amenities for 2 persons, There also we managed all 5 of us to fit in same guest houseJ. We are so flexible u know…!! Hehhe..!!! There was a pure veg hotel near to guest house; Infact the only hotel in Kemmangundi …taste was good. We had some photo session J and planned for Mullayangiri (same day i.e. Saturday) and next day to visit near by spots like Botanical garden, RajBhavan, Rose Garden etc(Sunday).

After visiting Mullayangiri , everyone was totally drained out..!! But still we had some refreshing games and slept covering ourselves with thick rug at 10.30 since the power goes off at that time …hahah..!!The only night I slept without switching on Fan, It was so cool and nice place to spend summer …!!Interestingly there was no mosquitoes ...ahh… its really an Heaven J ,Sunday morning after breakfast  we checked out room at 11 am started our journey to visit rest of  places like rose garden,Raj Bhavan its an VVIP guest house… at the top of the mountains.

The spectacular view from the Raj Bhavan is a photographer’s delight. For the bold at heart, Kemmangundi offers many peaks to scale and complicated jungle paths to explore.

We enjoyed a salubrious climate throughout our stay at Kemmangundi.

We had Badam milk and left…,since it was ghat section all the way till chikmaglur everyone had problem with kind of irritation , the green ,curvy and interesting route which made us more comfortable …!!Thanks to the NATURE J

While Coming back we came via Chikmaglur, Belur (visited Chennakeshava Temple),Hassan,Tumkur and reached Bangalore at 11 pm.

The only sad thing to share…..i lost my New SONY ERICCISON W395 mobile while coming back..!! It was sad….never mind….it helped me to Take new amazing.. .awesome….stylish…..NOKIA E Series.. Business phone J .
